Belmond Andean Explorer provides the opportunity to slow down the pace of your holiday with classic Belmond hospitality. This once in a lifetime experience will allow you to explore the astonishing Peruvian landscape in comfort and style. Enjoy 1, 2 or 3 night journeys aboard this luxury train.

Accommodation

Belmond Andean Explorer accommodates up to 68 guests in 34 cabins, comprising double, twin and bunk bed options, with the junior suite boasting the largest living space. All cabins are ensuite and decorated with refined fabrics, traditional Peruvian textiles and furnishings, all in neutral tones to reflect the natural surroundings.

The Journey

Beginning either in Cuzco or Puno, the Andean Explorer will whisk you from the mirror-like surface of Lake Titicaca and across the Peruvian altiplano to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital, passing traditional Andean villages and sweeping valleys and stopping at the beautiful 'White City' of Arequipa, enjoying a stunning location at the foot of the snow-capped El Misti volcano. Choose from 1, 2 or 3 night journeys.

Facilities & Services

There are two dining cars on the Andean Explorer, each serving up menus using fresh, local ingredients. The lounge car and observation car are the perfect areas for socialising with your fellow guests or enjoy sipping a freshly prepared Pisco Sour.

Weather & Seasons

Cuzco’s location and altitude result in only two seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season typically lasts from November to March, with the heaviest rains arriving in January and February. The best time to visit Cuzco and the surrounding area is during April-October.

Getting Here

To board at Cuzco, fly to Cuzco via Lima, followed by a half hour transfer to the train station. To board at Puno, fly to Juliaca via Lima,

followed by a 1 hour transfer. Our travel specialists can advise on the best options for you as part of your tailor-made itinerary in Peru.
