Cape Weligama, South Coast, Sri Lanka

Luxury boutique family friendly resort hotel, close to Galle

7 nights from £2,700pp, including breakfast, lunch or dinner, all drinks, laundry, flights and transfers

Cape Weligama is a luxury resort located on the south coast of Sri Lanka about 30 minutes from historic Galle. With jaw-dropping views over the Indian Ocean, Cape Weligama is set within 5 hectares of beautiful gardens and is one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.

Accommodation

Accommodation is comprised of a collection of private Residences and Suites, with a total of 39 rooms making the experience of staying here intimate and unhurried. The rooms create the illusion of a traditional Sri Lankan village and are supremely private, with generously sized contemporary living rooms and gardens, with private butler services as standard.

Activities & Experiences

Explore the sea surrounding the resort and the neighbouring coves either by swimming, snorkelling or kayaking. Water sports can be organised though the dive centre and trips further afield can be arranged by the resort guides who will accompany you and be on hand for any historical background.

Families

Cape Weligama is a great option for families with the many interconnecting rooms on offer. The Cove Pool is designed for families with children under 12 and the Moon Pool is reserved for guests over 12.

Facilities & Services

There are three different restaurants serving a variety of cuisine including Sri Lankan and Japanese dishes. The Moon Bar offers a range of light meals throughout the day and guests can enjoy Cream Tea, snacks and pre-dinner canapés and aperitifs at the Taylor Living Pavilion.

As well as the Residence's shared pools, there is the Moon Pool (for guests over age 13), and then the Cove Pool is shared by the Villas.

There is a fully equipped gym. The spa has four rooms but guests can also have treatments in their Residence. The Dive Centre is where all water and land-based activities are organised, such as kayaking, snorkelling, fishing, whale-watching and cycling trips.

Weather & Seasons

Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C. The sea stays at around 27°C all year. The driest (and best) seasons for the west and south coasts are from December to March

Getting Here

It's a 10 hour 30 minute direct flight to Colombo from London, followed by a 3 hour transfer. Whilst Cape Weligama provides a wonderfully luxurious beach holiday in its own right, we would be happy to create a bespoke itinerary for you in Sri Lanka to enable you to discover more of the island's wonders.
