Connie's Cottage, The Siam Bangkok, Thailand

Unique and historical Thai teak cottage spread over two floors with a private pool

Available as part of a luxury tailor-made tour of Thailand or wider Indochina adventure

Set in the grounds of The Siam, Bangkok's finest boutique hideaway, Connie's Cottage allows guests to experience elegant living of a bygone era, but with every conceivable modern day luxury. This 100 year old teak cottage has a bedroom upstairs and lavish living area below, and was shipped downriver from Ayutthaya by curio collector Connie Mangskau and silk merchant Jim Thompson. Connie hosted an array of famous characters in her cottage, including Jacqueline Kennedy, Henry Ford and John Rockefeller.

Accommodation

The Cottage spans 160 sq.m with a beautiful king-sized four-poster bedroom upstairs, with en suite bath and shower facilities. On the ground floor, there's lots of space for comfy seating and large opening doors leading out to the private pool. Despite its age, the property now has temperature controlled air-conditioning and all the mod-cons you might require. As with all accommodation at The Siam, Connie's Cottage comes with hi-speed wifi, your very own butler, and a complimentary boat service between the hotel and Saphan Taksin pier.

Activities & Experiences

The team at the hotel are exceptionally good at organising excursions and tours. Maybe enjoy seeing Bangkok from a different side, cruising in luxury comfort along the Chao Phraya River in a beautifully refurbished rice barge, boarding from the pier at The Siam. For an interesting comparison to Connie's Cottage, we recommend a visit to the original house of her friend Jim Thompson. It's now a museum, preserving the look and feel of a Thai teak house from a century ago. Or, at the hotel, enjoy a cooking class, have a go at That kick boxing, or treat yourself at The Siam' award-winning spa.

Facilities & Services

Guests at Connie's Cottage have full access to everything on offer at The Siam. There's a choice of exquisite restaurants and dining options, a cooking school, bar, café, spa, gym, yoga terrace, Muay Thai boxing ring, beauty salon, library with screening room, and a spectacular riverside infinity pool dotted with sun loungers.

Weather & Seasons

November to April are the best months to visit Bangkok with the least rain and the least humidity.
