Hotel Bairro Alto, Lisbon
Brilliantly located luxury hotel with exceptional restaurant and panoramic views from rooftop bar
7 nights from around £1,900pp, including breakfast, flights and transfers
Re-opening 26 July. In the two years that this pastel-colored 19th century palace has been closed for renovation, Lisbon has exploded as the darling of the European weekend break. Its fortuitous location between the trendy Bairro Alto and Chiado neighbourhoods means it’ll be as much of a hit with this new generation of visitors as it was with those before. It will also be home to the first-ever restaurant in Lisbon from Portuguese super-chef Nuno Mendez, with a focus on reinventing typical local dishes.
Accommodation
With views over either the Bairro Alto or Chiado districts, the hotel offers 65 rooms and 22 spacious suites. All are contemporary in style with bathrooms adorned in elegant Carrara and Travertino marbles.
Activities & Experiences
Depending how long you plan to stay, Lisbon has much to offer once you've walked around or hopped on the sight-seeing tram. Close to Lisbon you'll find some of the best beaches for an exhilarating surfing lesson or maybe you would like to appreciate Lisbon from the sea, gaining a different view of the city’s sights while relaxing on board a private yacht. Or perhaps discover the charming Estoril Coast and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Sintra with your private guide, strolling the historic streets and soaking in the delightful character of the old city.
