Classic Malaysian experiences also include the ancient rainforest and jungle wilderness of Taman Negara National Park and the lush tea plantations and refreshing waterfalls of the Cameron Highlands. Plus George Town in Penang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And, of course, you’ll be sipping cocktails as the sun sets over a pristine private beach on Langkawi Island.
Day 1: UK to Kuala Lumpur
Overnight flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital city.
Day 2: Kuala Lumpur
On arrival, you'll be met at the airport and driven to The Majestic where you can settle in and freshen up. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Perhaps relaxing by the pool or treating yourself in the spa. The original colonial style building of The Majestic (where you will stay for 4 nights - images below) dates back to 1932 and became one of the great hotels of Kuala Lumpur and is still a remarkable, grand place to stay in this fascinating city. Set in over 3 acres, the hotel is made up of two wings The Tower Wing and the Majestic Wing, blending art deco style mixed with modern facilities and colonial furniture.

Day 3: Half Day Kuala Lumpur City Tour
A must for first time visitors to Kuala Lumpur. An interesting private guided tour which unveils the beauty and charm of the old and new Kuala Lumpur - Garden City of Light. Highlights of the tour include: Petronas Twin Towers, King’s Palace, National Monument, National Museum, National Mosque, Sultan Abdul Samad Building and the Tudor styled Cricket Club. Day 4: Chinatown by Night
A private guided tour of around three and a half hours takes you to the bustling night markets in Chinatown. Take a stroll through the open air market where you can test your bargaining skills and visit the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple located in the heart of Chinatown. The smell of burning jasmine, incessant chanting of the Hindu priest, intricately carved deities and the mystical aura combines to give you a lasting impression of this religion. Day 5: Full Day Historical Malacca Tour
This full day private guided tour brings you to Malacca, formerly ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and lastly the British over a period of 400 years. Visit the pink-coloured Stadhuys, Cheng Hoon Teng (the oldest Chinese temple in the Peninsular), the Portuguese Fortress Porta de Santiago built in 1511 and St. Paul’s Church, and much more. Day 6: Kuala Lumpur to Taman Negara National Park
Departing in the early morning from Kuala Lumpur, you will be driven approximately 4 hours to Kampung Kuala Tahan. From here, board a longboat for the journey along the Tembeling and Tahan Rivers to Taman Negara Resort (where you'll stay for 2 nights), swapping the city noises of Kuala Lumpur for the delicate sounds of nature echoing around you. After dinner, watch a video presentation of Taman Negara National Park before setting out on a guided group jungle walk to experience the forest by night. Enjoy the orchestra of jungle noises performed for your pleasure by cicadas and other night insects and animals. Soak in the fresh night air and enjoy Mother Nature as it's intended it to be. Located in the heart of the Taman National Park, surrounded by 130 million year old forest, Taman Negara Resort is a comprehensive wildlife resort. The kampong-style wooden chalets are inspired by traditional Malaysian architecture and provide a simple but comfortable stay, with all of the eco-friendly chalets offering views of either the jungle or the Tembeling River.

Day 7: Explore the Rainforest
After breakfast, venture into the nearby forest for a slow trek through the riverine, lowland and mixed dipterocarp forest to reach Teresek Hill. Try a balancing act on the canopy walk, for an aerial view of the beautiful rainforest. You will then stop for lunch. In the afternoon, venture to Lata Berkoh by boat to enjoy the cool water pools and small cascading waterfall. Overnight at Taman Negara Resort
Day 8: Transfer to Cameron Highlands
You will be met by your guide and transferred by private vehicle (approx 5 hours) to Cameron Highlands for a 2 night stay at The Lakehouse. Perched on a hill overlooking Sultan Abu Bakar Lake and backed by state reserve forests, The Lakehouse has just 19 rooms and suites in the heart of tea plantation countryside. Set in an area known as 'The Valley of Eternal Spring', the traditional Tudor-style property complete with whitewashed walls and exposed wooden frames was built by retired British Army Officer in 1970. The hotel exudes a cosy yet luxurious colonial style.

Day 9: Half Day Cameron Highlands Tour
After breakfast explore the many interesting sights of this hill resort. Visit a tea plantation and factory to learn about the tea making process and enjoy a cuppa too. The view overlooking the plantations is utterly gorgeous. This hill resort produces vegetables for the nation's consumption as well as for export. After visiting the vegetable farm and strawberry farm, continue to the morning market where you can find all the produce of Cameron Highlands sold in one place. Continue visit to Butterfly Farm and Time Tunnel Museum to take a peek into the past of Cameron Highlands through photographs and learn about its history. Lastly take a stroll around Tanah Rata before returning to the hotel at around 4pm. Overnight at The Lakehouse
Day 10: Transfer to Penang
You will be met by your guide and transferred by private vehicle to Penang (approx 5 hours) for a 3 night stay at the acclaimed Eastern & Oriental. The colonial-era E & O is the premier hotel in Penang and has recently been restored to its old elegance and offers 101 luxurious, spacious suites. The hotel's swimming pool overlooks the Straits of Malacca and offers the perfect place to relax with a drink, or take stroll around the large, well-maintained gardens.

Day 11: Georgetown Tour
An extensive private tour to experience all the sights and sound of exotic Penang Island. Visit the world's 4th longest statue of The Reclining Buddha - Wat Chayamangkalaram. Proceed to Dhammikarama Temple, an elaborately decorated Burmese Temple and the first Buddhist temple to be built in Penang in 1803. Drive past the harmony street of Penang, the Saint George's Angelican Church (built in 1818), Kuan Yin - Goddess of Mercy Temple (Penang's oldest Taoist temple built in1800 when the Chinese settled here), Sri Mariamman Temple (the oldest Hindu temple) and Masjid Kapitan Keling (the oldest Indian Muslim mosque). Visit Khoo Kongsi - a magnificent hall embellished with intricate carvings and wood work. Followed by a brief photo-stop at Fort Cornwallis where Francis Light and crew landed in 1786. Day 12: Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple
From the hotel, your private guide will take you to Kek Lok Si Temple - a majestic Buddhist Taoist temple with its imposing 10,000 Buddha Pagodas and the most awesome Tortoise Pond of Longevity. The adjacent and vast Kuan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) pavilion shelters the gigantic statue of the Kuan Yin. Ascend Penang Hill, 830 above sea level, using a Swiss funicular railway that passes through hill farms and lush tropical jungles.

Day 13: Fly to Langkawi
You will be met by your guide and transferred by private vehicle to Penang Airport (approx 1 hour) for your 35 minute flight to Langkawi Island for your 3 night stay at The Andaman - a luxury hotel on Langkawi's Datai Bay, with a backdrop of a 10 million year-old rainforest, calm seas and a coral reef just offshore. The hotel is a Luxury Collection Resort, located at one end of the calm and picturesque Datai Bay, which sits on the northern shores of Langkawi, nestled in a stunning location between the verdant mountains and the Andaman Sea.

Days 14 & 15: The Andaman
Enjoy two glorious days relaxing on the beach, playing golf at the highly acclaimed The Els Club Teluk Datai championship golf course, being blissfully pampered in the spa, playing a set or two of tennis, bird watching or exploring the rainforest.
Day 16: Fly home
Unfortunately, your 14 night Malaysian odyssey is now over and it's time to fly home. Private transfer to Langkawi Airport to a connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur to London.
