Mena House, Cairo, Egypt
Cairo's best luxury hotel for astonishing views of the pyramids
Rooms from around £95 per night, including daily breakfast. Flights and transfers at additional charge.
The Mena House, once the hunting palace of King Farouk, is set in 40 acres of jasmine-scented gardens with the neighbouring Pyramids towering above. Set on the outskirts of Cairo, away from the hustle and bustle, Mena House undoubtedly offers the best views of the pyramids from its relatively tranquil oasis. Opened in 1869, the hotel’s distinguished atmosphere is full of character and style and over the years has played host to Kings and Emperors, Heads of State and celebrities.
Accommodation
Mena House has 523 rooms and suites located in both the Palace wing, with its belle époque style and the more modern Mena Garden wing, which has recently been refurbished
Activities & Experiences
Within the hotel's 40 acres of lush verdant gardens guests can enjoy the two swimming pools (one for children), fitness facilities, a 9 hole golf course and an indulgent spa. Sightseeing tours and horse and camel riding to the pyramids can be arranged by Vita Brevis Travel and the hotel is just 15 minutes from the sights of old Cairo if you wish to enjoy the restaurants, nightlife, culture and shops the city has to offer.
Cairo's attractions include the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Egyptian museum, the maze-like streets of Islamic Cairo and the Coptic quarter of Old Cairo, and all are within easy reach.
Families
Children are very welcome at Mena House and will be astonished by its location so close to the Pyramids. It's a malaria-free zone and there's a children's pool. Children's meals and babysitting can also easily be arranged.

Recreational facilities at Mena House include an outdoor swimming pool (the largest in Cairo), outdoor tennis courts, a gym, and
horse and camel riding with experienced instructors.
