Monastero Santa Rosa, Amalfi Coast

Impossibly romantic luxury spa hotel on Italy's sensational Amalfi coast

3 nights from £875pp sharing a Sea View Superior room on bed and breakfast basis, including flights and transfers.

The painstaking renovation of Monastero Santa Rosa, a 17th-century monastery, has resulted in a unique Amalfi boutique hotel steeped in history, lavished with top-quality furnishings, and set in gloriously scented tiered gardens. Perched dramatically on the edge of a sheer cliff above that blue, blue Bay of Salerno in the fishing village of Conca dei Marini, the 20 ocean-view rooms and Santa Maria Novella-stocked spa are remarkably spacious and utterly romantic.

Accommodation

There are just 20 rooms here, 8 of which are suites.  Each of the former nun’s quarters are named after herbs grown in their own private gardens, and each space is treated to a large bathroom and jaw-droppingly magnificent sea views.

Activities & Experiences

Stay at Monastero Santa Rosa to relax in or beside the spectacular infinity pool, enjoying the truly extraordinary views over the bay, to soak up the sunshine, and to pamper yourself in the spa.  The spa is a destination in its own right, if only for a noseful of the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella unguents and a whirl in the thermal spa (Finnish sauna, steam room, ice fountain and more).  If you can't resist a workout, there's a small fitness studio in the wonderfully tiered cliff-side gardens. Alternatively, there's some magical walking paths along the rocky coastline. And, if you don't fancy touring the coastline by winding, vertiginous road, ask the hotel to organise you

a boat to Positano or Ravello instead.

Facilities & Services

Santa Rosa Ristorante wows with Campania flavours done simply but perfectly, many of the organic ingredients picked from the hotel’s own gardens. When it’s chef Christoph Bob creating the cuisine you may expect the exceptional - he was lured away from Alain Ducasse’s 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris.

Weather & Seasons

Monastero Santa Rosa is only open from mid April to mid October, so the weather varies from warm and sunny (Spring and Autumn) to very hot and sunny. We suggest avoiding peak summer season as the Amalfi Coast is rammed with tourists and getting anywhere is a bit of a chore.

Getting Here

The airport in Naples is 70 km from the hotel and there are regular flights from the UK.
