MV Origin, Galapagos Islands
The finest vessel in the region with the best ratio of expert naturalists to guests
Only available as part of a tailor-made tour of Ecuador & the Galápagos, or a wider Latin America journey
MV Origin is a premium-class yacht, custom-built for exploring the Galápagos and now part of Relais & Châteaux, confirming its reputation as the finest vessel in the region. There are two dedicated expert naturalist guides on board to teach you all about the incredible wildlife, at a ratio of one guide per 10 guests (the lowest ratio in the Galapagos). Enjoyland and water-based excursions to the most exciting sights of the Galápagos
Accommodation
Combining modern sophistication with understated luxury, the Deluxe Staterooms feature large windows with ocean views, Apple TV pre-loaded with films and a rainfall shower with ocean view.
Activities & Experiences
Your expert naturalist guides will reveal the most wildlife-abundant islands, where a hike up the beach or over the volcanic foothills is sure to take you up close to some of the rarest creatures in the world. Explore the rocky coasts by Zodiac, kayak, stand-up paddle board or glass-bottom boat. This is also one of the best snorkelling destinations in the world, where the most unique marine creatures in the ocean reign supreme. There's also a small gym if all of the swimming, snorkelling and walking leaves you wanting even more exercise.
Facilities & Services
The public areas are spacious (with a choice of 3 lounges) and the cosy library is stocked with books on all things Galápagos, so you can learn all about Darwin at your leisure. The Jacuzzi is a great spot to unwind after a day of exploration and the spacious sun deck has inviting chairs, loungers and hammocks; relax while taking in the views and sipping drinks from the wet bar or enjoying delicious barbecue cuisine.
When it comes to mealtimes, the luxury only increases. Enjoy expertly prepared international and Ecuadorian favourites, while great care is paid to dietary requirements and allergies.
Weather & Seasons
Seasons are split into cool and dry (June - November) and warm and wet (December - June), with the warmer season being the best time to visit Galápagos for warmer, calmer seas and good underwater visibility.
