Romantic, tropical boutique hotel filled with original colonial antiques, set on a stunning beach on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, and just a couple of hours from Colombo airport - making this beach retreat a perfect start or finish to your holiday in Sri Lanka.

Accommodation

The 7 suites, named after Sri Lankan flowers, share a wonderful sense of grandeur and comfort. Beautiful writing desks, tables, chairs and other antiques fill each room. All suites are large (100-120 sq.m) and have cool, tiled flooring, air-conditioning and high ceilings with enormous pankah fans. In the modern bathrooms, polished granite is prominent - you could practically swim in the vast tubs. Double sinks stand on a wooden slab in front of a huge Venetian-style mirror and a curve of stone hides your rain shower; some suites have their showers in a small garden. Ayurvedic toiletries include lime and lavender handmade soaps. Each suite has a private terrace, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a private dinner.

Activities & Experiences

If relaxing by the pool, strolling along the beach, or indulging in a blissful spa treatment isn't sufficient, the hotel can arrange a variety of excursions. Take the hotel's tuk-tuk and driver to the 300 year old Maha Viharatemple in Wadduwa, (15 minutes away) and examine the relief sculptures of Lord Buddha or visit the atmospheric Richmond Castle (20 minutes) to appreciate this fine example of British and Indian colonial architecture. Or head to tourist enclave Bentota, where the hotel can arrange a meandering boat trip through the thick mangrove swamps.

Weather & Seasons

Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C. The sea stays at around 27°C all year. Climatically speaking, the driest (and best) seasons in Sri Lanka are from December to March for the west and south coasts.

Getting Here

It's a 10 hour 30 minute direct flight to Colombo from London, followed by a 2 hour transfer. Reef Villa is a popular inclusion in many of our tailor-made holidays in Sri Lanka.
