Saray el Nile Dahabiya, Nile Cruises, Egypt
Chic private charter Nile cruises aboard this elegant seven cabin dahabiya
5 nights private charter from £8,500, including full board, resident Egyptologist, all guided excursions and entrance fees
Flights and transfers arranged at an additional charge
Built over a century ago, the Saray el Nile Dahabiya exudes the timeless elegance of the golden age of travel and this charming boutique vessel, with just 7 cabins, has a beautiful hardwood sundeck, quarterdeck and stern - restored to its former glory inside and out in 2019. The 33m Saray El-Nile Dahabiya is attractively priced and while offering a comfortable Nile cruise experience, the classic 19th-century Egyptian interiors should be considered as being simple in terms of their appointment, compared to the more sumptuously luxurious cruises that we also organise.
Accommodation
Beneath the sundeck, leading off from a central corridor, are the Saray el Nile Dahabiya’s six individually decorated air-conditioned ensuite cabins. The spacious master cabin is located at the stern of the dahabiya and has its own private terrace.
The Journey
The Saray el Nile Dahabiya offers seven, four, or three-night cruises, with a high crew to guest ratio, and privately guided excursions led by an Egyptologist guide.
Facilities & Services
The dahabiya’s 20-metre-long shaded sundeck is an ideal vantage point from which to observe the Nile as you cruise between ports of call and features period-style handcrafted rattan furniture and an air-conditioned glass room with a dining table, small library and fully stocked bar.
Guests will enjoy excellent Egyptian and International cuisine.
Weather & Seasons
Egypt has year-round sun, and almost no rain. Daytime temperatures range from pleasantly warm in the winter to very hot in the summer. Northerly cities such as Cairo and Alexandria are generally about 5ºC cooler than southerly areas such as Aswan and Abu Simbel.
Getting Here
Departures are from Luxor or Aswan. To reach the docks, we recommend flying from Cairo to either destination. To Luxor it's an hour, and to Aswan it's 90 minutes. There are several daily flights, so there's no need to stay overnight in Cairo unless you wish to.
