It's an easy 2 hour 30 minute flight to Lisbon in sunny southern Portugal. Geologically the world's newest country, Iceland is famous for its volcanoes, geysers and geothermal baths and, for those lucky enough to see them, the magical Northern Lights. Iceland is a popular destination for a winter short break as it's the best time to see the Aurora Borealis. Spend daylight hours exploring Reykjavik (there are lots of great restaurants and bars) and bathing in the thermal waters of the famous Blue Lagoon, or stay in the countryside.
