Six Senses Laamu, Maldives

Exceptional Indian Ocean boutique resort

7 nights from £3,400pp sharing a Water Villa, including half board, flights and transfers

Six Senses Laamu is the only resort on the virtually uncharted Laamu Atoll, deep in the Indian Ocean. The island's pristine natural beauty is enhanced by powder white sand, lush tropical vegetation and warm, crystal clear waters.

Accommodation

Six Senses Laamu has 97 Beach Villas, two-bedroom Beach Villas with pool and Water Villas, all offering privacy, comfort and luxury. True to its philosophy of environmental protection, the villas are made from local and sustainable materials along with every possible thought for the comfort of guests. All villas include: King beds, air-conditioning, Bose entertainment system, iPod docking station, TV, minibar, phone, wifi, outdoor bathroom, hairdryer, safe, tea and coffee facilities.

Activities & Experiences

Activities which you can partake in during your stay at Six Senses Laamu include swimming, spa treatments, yoga, surfing, diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, surfing, canoeing, hobie cat sailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, island excursions, cookery classes, picnics and fishing.

Spa & Wellness

Dotted along the glorious Laamu coastline are nine peaceful treatment rooms, four of which resemble giant pod-style nests intertwined between wooden walkways and the other five are more like huts that are shrouded by the lush vegetation. You can enjoy an excellent combination of inventive and modern therapies and sound remedies (the therapeutic manipulation of sound to relieve stress, anxiety and blood pressure), while visiting practitioners provide holistic therapies such as acupressure, reflexology and Reiki. The spa also features a hammam, sauna, lap pool and yoga pavilion.

Facilities & Services

Six Senses Laamu’s restaurants and bars have been designed to take maximum advantage of the islands idyllic beauty with panoramic views and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Longitude, open for breakfast and dinner, occupies an airy, overwater space serving breakfast buffets, whilst dinner is usually à la carte, but twice a week there's an impressive buffet dinner with live cooking stations. Leaf is perched above the organic garden and has a Vietnamese bias and dinner is contemporary Mediterranean. There's also a Japanese restaurant, Zen, on an upper deck by Chill Bar; its small but comprehensive menu ticks off Japanese classics. Sip Sip rises resplendent from the swimming pool, offering fresh-from-the-oven pizzas, salads, burgers, pasta dishes and desserts – including home-made ice-cream and sorbets.

Weather & Seasons

The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
