Located between Udaipur and Jodhpur, the beautiful wilderness surrounding Suján Jawai Leopard Camp at the foot of the Aravali Mountains is home to a thriving population of leopards and is probably the best place in India to spot them. The luxurious tented camp also lies close to Jawai Bandh, one of Rajasthan’s largest reservoirs, attracting an abundance of birds and other wildlife - so this really is a fantastic destination

for a multitude of reasons.

Accommodation

Jawai Leopard Camp has just 10 luxury tents, all with private bathrooms. The private deck attached to each provides unobstructed, spectacular views of the dramatic wilderness around. The Royal Tented Suite includes its own pool, sunbathing deck and offers even more space to unwind.

Activities & Experiences

Days here start early, heading out with expert guides in customized jeeps to track and catch a sighting of leopards in their natural habitat. In the evening, a sunset game drive is the perfect way to end the day. In between your leopard spotting adventures, you can enjoy wilderness drives and explore nature trails that are ideal for keen birders. There are lots of great mountain biking trails too. If you want to go a little further afield, and take a picnic, you could be driven to the 15th century fort at Kumbhalgarh or visit the intricately carved temples of Ranakpur - both are about an hour away. However, for something more relaxing, you can simply put your feet up by the pool or head to the tented spa to enjoy

a choice of blissful treatments and therapies.

Facilities & Services

Dining at Jawai Leopard Camp is full of choice but always delicious. Join your fellow guests in the tented dining room or select a private dining setting from the numerous options available. How about breakfast in the bush and dinner under the stars, overlooking the watery landscape of Jawai Bandh? The camp also includes various relaxation areas as well as a discreetly located spa.

Weather & Seasons

For warm, sunny weather October to March is the best time to travel to Rajasthan. December and January can have chilly nights. Temperatures in the desert areas are always hot in the daytime, but they can get pretty cold once the sun goes down.

Getting Here

Depending on your itinerary, it may be best to be driven to the camp from Udaipur or Jodhpur - about 3 hours from both. Alternatively, take the overnight train from New Delhi to Jawai Bandh station, where you will be collected for the 20 minute drive to the camp.
