The Strand Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar

One of Southeast Asia's finest hotels, perfect as a base for exploring Yangon

Only available as part of a tailor-made tour of Myanmar

Acknowledged as one of Southeast Asia's leading luxury hotels, and with a name synonymous with welcoming and intuitive service, the Strand Yangon has been a city institution since 1901. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, the hotel underwent a complete refurbishment in 2016, with all 31 suites redecorated in keeping with the Strand's legendary style and timeless elegance.

Accommodation

With just 31 suites this boutique hotel provides a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Each suite comes with 24 hour personalized butler service, an in-house safe, fully stocked mini bar, satellite TV and complimentary wireless Internet access.

Activities & Experiences

The Strand Yangon is located on Strand Road in downtown Yangon, near the Yangon River and the main commercial and diplomatic districts - thus perfectly located for exploring this fascinating city, the former capital of Burma and still the country's beating economic and cultural heart. Our travel specialists have an intimate knowledge of Yangon and can create private tours for you, taking in the gently crumbling colonial buildings that line the streets and the 'must see' attractions like the National Museum, the Reclining Buddha Pagoda and the city’s beautiful Shwedagon Pagoda.

Facilities & Services

The Strand Grill is a colonial-style dining room with a gourmet menu of Asian and International cuisine, while the informal Strand Café, which overlooks the bustle of Strand Road, is open throughout the day. The Spa at The Strand Yangon offers a comprehensive treatment menu, and is a welcome sanctuary after a busy day exploring Yangon.

Weather & Seasons

The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April when the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March and the rainy season from May to September is best avoided.

Getting Here

The hotel is 30 minutes from the airport in Yangon.
