Torralbenc, Menorca
Charming boutique island hideaway, perfect for a tranquil sunny break in the Balearic Islands
Double rooms from £165 per night including breakfast. Flights and transfers available at additional cost.
The boutique hotel that Menorca has been crying out for, Torralbenc is a charming hideaway in a beautifully converted and modernised former 19th century finca in the south west of the island, within easy striking distance of some of the island’s finest beaches.
Accommodation
Torralbenc comprises just 27 rooms and cottages surrounded by gently rolling fields and vineyards but also within walking distance of the sea.
Some of the rooms are in the main building of the hotel (many with terraces or balconies), while others, including two separate and private cottages (one with its own plunge pool) are set within manicured grounds.
Activities & Experiences
The hotel provides bicycles to enable guests to explore the countryside and coastline, and they can also organise spa treatments, yoga sessions and cooking courses on site. The main swimming pool, a salt water pool, is dotted with sunloungers - perfect for soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the view out to the Mediterranean. It's about a mile to the nearest beaches. Further afield, the harbour at Mahon (the island's capital) with its shops and waterside restaurants is 15 minutes drive away
Facilities & Services
This a charming, simple boutique hideaway - designed for a tranquil and relaxing holiday - and does not have extensive facilities and services. Apart from the salt-water swimming pool and pretty gardens, there's a restaurant (in the former wine storage building) with a lovely terrace offering views of the gardens and the sea beyond. The chef specialises in Mediterranean and Menorcan classics using seasonal ingredients sourced locally. Guests can also eat or enjoy wine tasting in other areas of the hotel including in Fig Tree Cave, which has been used for celebrations since prehistoric times.
Weather & Seasons
Menorca is a year-round destination and probably best in late Spring and early Autumn. During the summer (June through to September) there's very little rain and daytime temperatures average around 27°C, and it gets a few degrees warmer in July and August.
Getting Here
It's an easy 15 minutes drive to the airport, 8 miles away.
